M.I.A has posted a scathing song on her homepage attacking music journalist Lynn Hirschberg.

This is after the controversial rapper posted Hirschberg’s phone number on her website last week, and the feud shows no signs of letting up after this latest salvo.

M.I.A had taken offence to an article by the New York Times writer Hirschberg after she made provocative comments about her visa problems in the US, her ties to Sri Lanka and her family.

The 34-year-old pulls no punches on the track entitled I’m a Singer, which includes the lyrics “Why the hell would a journalist be thick as shit.” And “You can talk shit to me I’m used to it/You make me hard with the wounds that I have to lick/You can pick on me and I can see it at a click.”

This is not the first time Hirschberg has got on the wrong side of an outspoken female recording artist, after she upset Courtney Love in a 1992 Vanity Fair article.
