Toycon is the UK’s only convention completely dedicated to the art of toys. From vinyl to resin toys, you’ll find them all here.

Run by collectors, the convention aims to let the people of Britain show their appreciation for toys like never before.

The show boasts stalls of collectors looking to trade, talks with famous names in the business as well as custom workshops that visitors can take part in, in order to get a taste of what it’s like to be a toy designer.

The convention will take place on April 12, in York Hall, London and although all of the pre-sale tickets are sold out on the website, there will still be tickets available on the door. But these will be limited so we advise get there early.

To celebrate the launch of Toycon, a new toy has been released with only 100 pieces available, costing $52 a piece.

These toys are called ‘Toyconosaurus’ and is a replica of the convention’s mascot. Guests attending Toycon will have first pick of these toys, with the rest of them going up for sale online at a later date.

To honour Toycon and the celebration of vinyl toys, here is a list of my top 3.

3. Labbit – These toys intrigue me because they have taken an innocent animal, something you associate with fluff, warmth and cuteness and stuck a cigarette in it’s mouth and a 5 o’clock shadow. This confuses me and I love things that flip stereotypes on their heads and challenge how we see them. Well done Kidrobot!

2. Lunartik TeaToy – These toys are just ridiculously cute. A robot peeping out of a cup of tea is always welcome on my shelf and with so many pretty designs to choose from, I can see myself having a cabinet full of these guys.

1. A Disney vinyl toy had to take the number one spot. The Mini Funko Figure Blind Boxes give you the chance of getting a figure of Maleficent, Stitch, Mike, Winnie The Pooh, Tinkerbell, Jack Skellington, Mickey or Sully pulling one of three poses. That’s 24 to collect!

If you can’t make it down to London for the convention, check out the website to look at the different exhibitors and perhaps pick up a piece from their websites.
