Liverpool street drummers Our Neck Of the Woods to raise funds for disadvantaged communities

Liverpool’s popular street-performers, Our Neck Of The Woods, are planning to take their spontaneous drum set across Europe to play and raise money for disadvantaged communities.

The drumming group, regularly spotted drawing crowds on Church Street have launched a crowd-funding campaign, to raise money for travelling to different destinations - spreading the joy and positivity of their musical workshops.

The group who consists of friends - Sean Moore, 24, Alex Evoy, 27, Nora Hermine Tidemand-Johannesen , 25, Samuel Rogers, 21, Ben Heidstrom, 18, Lesha Palmer, 22, Samuel Pleass , 18, Will Cartwright, 21 and Ryan Cretney, 24 are working with Mental Health Charities and Help The Homeless in the coming months.

Sean Moore decided to create Our Neck Of The Woods after being inspired by local buskers and musical workshops.

He said: "There were a load of oil barrels and drumsticks for people to just start their own jams – I loved how it bought people together.

"One of our main goals is just to provide happiness wherever we go. We plan to leave drumsticks wherever we go, to inspire people to create their own music."

Our Neck Of The Woods have proved popular with crowds as their set encourages interaction from local passers-by.

Alex Evoy, 27, said: ‘It gives us a chance to engage with all types of characters and keeps what we’re doing fresh and exciting.’

Sean Moore, 24, said, ‘We still can’t quite get over how many positive reactions we have received. Especially things like when parents link us to videos of their kids jamming at home, or people that tell us they were having a bad day, but jamming in the street made them feel better.’
