Diesel are excited to announce a new series of events, parties, and gigs to be known as The Midnight Special, as part of the Cooperative at the Liverpool Biennial, with a special gig on 24th September featuring acclaimed up and coming act, The Good Natured.

The Midnight Special will be part of the Cooperative, an official strand of the Liverpool Biennial, and will take place from 18th of September to the 28th of November.

Midnight Special will begin with a unique live art performance by Michael Mayhew on Saturday 18th September and continues with a programme of music, performance art and live literature happenings in the coming weeks.

Diesel will take over The Old Paint Shop for the duration of Midnight Special, with a party on Friday 24th September, featuring a live performance from the acclaimed The Good Natured as well as DJ sets from local favourites CantmixWontmixShdntmixDontmix and a very special installation from international artist Nikki Mccubbing.

The venue for the festivities is a disused shop which is being transformed into the go-to cultural hub for the duration of the Biennial. Think Paris squat meets a modern-day arts centre, with a huge installation in the shop façade, and a specially created performance space in the basement.

As well as the party on the 24th of September, Midnight Special’s Saturday night events will showcase the most cutting-edge live performance art and music.

Highlights include Liverpool exports Ezra Bang and Hot Machine with Shunt on Saturday October the 30th as well as poetry collective Stop Sharpening Your Knives on September the 25th. The closing party on November 27th will feature Hot Club de Paris. The event is in association with Liverpool creative agency Mercy.
