Arrows of Love hit the road on a full UK tour to exchange cassettes with all who turn up to the venues with a Walkman.

The five-piece have unleashed a new mix-tape today for free download, mixing a variety of tunes over 1 hour and 25 minutes from the Melvins and Butthole Surfers to Skrillex, Silver Apples and Sonic Youth to name a few.

Singer/guitarist Nima Teranchi explains their choices: “Well, with this mix-tape, we decided to pick 5 songs each. We thought about it afterwards and realised we could have made a tape where we all totally agreed each song was awesome....where our tastes overlap....’cos that's what being in a band is really, the bit where you all overlap. But this turned out interesting in a different way.“

“There's stuff in there some band members have never heard of before, and stuff that different band members love or hate, so it's wildly more diverse because of it. You'll see what we mean. Enjoy the ride, there might be a few unexpected twists along the way, but everyone'll find something new that's for sure.”

The Hackney five-piece have received accolades as one of London's most exciting live acts. See them on tour around the UK at the following shows and pick up Honey from today at arrowsoflove.bandcamp.com/

Butthole Surfers - To Parter
Mike said: "I first heard Buttholes Surfers while randomly searching YouTube, and it was this song being performed on the 'Scott & Gary Show'. Apparently they dropped acid 5 minutes before the show. It's one of my favourite performances ever."

Melvins - Honey Bucket
"I'm pretty sure the apocalypse will sound something like this. The vocals are amazing but the lyrics are total nonsense."

Juana Molina - Un Dia
"This is off the album of the same title, an album I can never get bored of. She performs everything herself with loop pedals. I have no idea what she's singing about but it sounds so beautiful."

Zach Hill - Dark Art One
"My favourite drummers. This is one of the more comprehensible songs off his album, the rest should not be heard by anyone with mental health issues."

Victorian English Gentlemens Club - My Imagination Can't Save Me Now
"I'm a pretty big fan."

Nimrod’s choices:
QOTSA - I Never Came
Nimrod said: "I don't know what it is about this song that just makes me feel like I could leave it running on repeat for an hour."

Silver Apples - A Pox on You
"Coolest song title ever. The singer from this band was way ahead of his time - he built this little synth box in the 60's, decided it was great, most the band members thought it was too weird and left, and then the remaining silver apples went on to do its best stuff...stuff like this."

Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster
"Just one of the best bands the UK's produced in years. And this is a mighty cool tune. I like the video too."

Tilly and the Wall - Nights of the Living Dead
"This song's a big mix of human spirit, rebellion, and youth....nailed."

Nuha’s choices:
Birthday Party – Junkyard
"My favourite band of all time. One my favourite tracks and a Birthday Party 'classic'. If you're not familiar with this sickenly good band, this is a good intro."

Iggy and The Stooges - I'm Sick of You
"A lesser known Stooges track released on a 3 track EP in 77 of the same title, it also got released on Raw Power's rareties and outtakes. One of my favourite Stooges tracks, similar vibe to Gimme Danger another favourite. Ugly and honest truths told beautifully."

Slim Harpo - Strange Love
"I'm a big fan of Swamp blues and Slim Harpo is King of the swamp! the slower blues rhythm and shuffle beats create the dirtier side of blues I enjoy, Strange Love's a good example. The Rolling Stones and fair few British invasion bands took influence from Harpo."

Sonic Youth – Superstar
"A song that has very special meaning to me, which also happens to be a beautiful widely loved song."

Murder City Devils - Broken Glass
"One of the best dedication songs to have ever been written about another band! A big unashamed declaration of love song to Iggy Pop from Spencer Moody. One of the sexiest songs, I love in the live recording on 'R.I.P' he stops half way through the song to say "... and I know you're only up there for me... Jimi... in 1971 you had the best rock and roll band in the entire world... and it means a lot to me, I don't know why we bother"... before erupting into " and I like the sound... I LIKE THE SOUND OF YOU ROLLING.. IN THE BROKEN GLASS!" one day I hope to write something that can come close to Nick Cave."

Ollie’s choices:
The Pentangle - Light Flight
Ollie said: "Pretty much the most English thing I've ever heard. Makes me want to dress up like Robert Plant in The Song Remains The Same and rescue Nuha from a heavily fortified ivory tower somewhere in Westeros."

The Wings – Odenigbo
"The missus is of Nigerian descent, and our mutual quest to find sounds from the country beyond Fela Kuti and so-bad-its-good hip-hop has unearthed some seriously funky cuts. Just imagine sweating your tits off dancing to this in a steamy Lagos bar."

Nikki Giovanni - Ego Tripping
"This is what I feel like every day when I leave the house, except when I'm hungover. Which is every day."

Magma - Liriïk Necronomicus Kahnt
"Magma are quite possibly my favourite band ever. A mental drummer that sings ear piercing falsetto in a made up language about a race of people coming back to blow up earth with their Mekanïk Destruktïw Komandöh you say? I'll take that, and the H.R Giger artwork too thanks."

Skrillex - Breakin A Sweat
"Dubstep has gone a long way downhill since I was in a Brighton club, hanging upside down and frothing at the mouth on mountains of ketamine a few years back. So why not polish that turd and add some members of The Doors to the mix? Great tune."
