Continuing his pop-punk journey, Machine Gun Kelly has dropped his infectious new single ‘Love Race’ which features Sleeping With Sirens’ frontman Kellin Quinn.

The single is the third time that the pair have joined forces throughout their careers and it seems like fans of both artists are living for this collaboration.

The single, produced by Travis Barker, Jared Gutstadt, and Jeff Peters, is Kelly’s second single of 2021 and is every pop-punk lover’s dream.

Reminiscent of the beloved classic pop-punk from the late 90s and early 00’s mixed with a unique modern take, the new track sees Machine Gun Kelly recounting a tale from high school in which he saw the girl of his dreams with someone else.

Kicking off with a syncopated, reverb-heavy clean guitar line, ‘Love Race’ exhibits the same heavy pop-punk stylings as last year’s full-length ‘Tickets To My Downfall’.

Powered by an action-packed rock instrumental that has the perfect amount of teenage angst, ‘Love Race’ quickly blossoms into a power chord driven, hook-centric track that will have you headbanging alone in your bedroom. Quinn even throws in his old iconic post-hardcore, screamo vocals that hit longtime fans in the emo.

The well-known singers swap vocals, blending together perfectly throughout the song, and combined with the signature drum styling of blink-182 drummer Travis Barker, the track is not only hypnotic, but also powerful.

It is extremely catchy, light-hearted and fun, just the way a song of this calibre should be, and keeps on getting better with every listen.

It seems like the rapper-turned-rocker is a bit of a natural when it comes to the subgenre and it will be exciting to see where this journey leads him next.
