Last week sees Dua Lipa secure her first UK number 1 album with Future Nostalgia. The album, which surpassed 294 million streams in its first week, has now exceeded 1 billion streams on Spotify across all of its tracks.

Establishing Dua Lipa as the most listened to British artist on Spotify globally and the most listened to female artist on the platform.

Future Nostalgia also holds the record for the most streamed album in a single day by any British female artist. The number one album includes the recent single ‘Break My Heart’, the Number 1 global hit single ‘Don’t Start Now’, and her smash single ‘Physical’. Continuing ‘Future Nostalgia’s success, Dua will hold 3 singles in the top 10 this week which is the longest run of 3 tracks in the top 10 by a female artist since 1955.

Speaking on her first Number 1 album, Dua said - "Getting a number one in my home country is a dream come true!! I’m so grateful for all the love and the support especially during these difficult times. Sending love to all of you and thank you for everything 💗💗💗."

The new album ‘Future Nostalgia’ is available for download on all digital platforms as well as physical on the following formats; pink neon vinyl, CD, picture disc, gold cassette and deluxe box set, all of which are now available from Dua’s web store here.

Since the release of her first single in 2015, Lipa has become one of the music world’s hottest young artists. Her self-titled debut album has eclipsed 5 million sales worldwide, with single sales reaching 60 million. Her eponymous debut album is the most streamed album by a female artist in Spotify history.

The video for her break-out hit “New Rules” (“the song that changed my life,” she says) made her the youngest female solo artist to reach one billion views on YouTube, and she made BRIT Award history in 2018 as the first female artist to pick up five nominations, with two wins for British Breakthrough Act and British Female Solo Artist.

In 2019, she received two Grammy awards for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording for “Electricity,” her collaboration with Silk City.
