Pet Shop Boys had fans all a-flutter after they appeared as guests in the Zoe Ball Breakfast show on BBC 2 on Wednesday morning.

They were treated not only to the worldwide premiere of their latest single, but the promise of a world tour beginning next year.

Dreamland, the title of first single from the forthcoming as yet unnamed album coming in January, is a collaboration with Years and Years and written with front man Ollie Alexander, it’s pop perfection that we’ve come to expect from Pet Shop Boys. Fans we loving it from first listen.

Neil Tennant confirmed that the album, recorded in Berlin had been given a release date of January 24th and both Neil and Chris seem very excited about it. Produced by Stuart Price and is the final in the trilogy with Pet Shop Boys, both Electric (2013) and Super (2016) have met with massive worldwide success and fans are eagerly awaiting this next album.

The announcement of Dreamworld: The Greatest Hits tour schedule for May 2020 will see the boys kick off the first leg on the 28th at The O2 Arena, London then travel the UK playing in Manchester, Birmingham, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Newcastle and Glasgow before taking them around the world which will be announced at a later date.

Pre-sale tickets went on sale Wednesday and general tickets go on sale Friday the 13th with VIP Experience tickets available.

Not ones for sitting around, Neil and Chris have had a very busy summer. After completing their Super world tour back in April and the completion of their album they headed to Scotland to the Edinburgh Fringe festival where their musical, Musik was playing.

Co-written with Johnathan Harvey the one woman show featuring Billie Trix (Frances Barber) the star of their 2001 hit musical Closer To Heaven), also had its third run from July to August 2019.

In addition to that, they were commissioned to write songs for a stage version of the 1985 British comedy-drama My Beautiful Laundrette.
