Hollywood comedian Chris Rock has released a candid snap of himself in the studio with Detroit rapper Eminem.

Eminem is seen at the mic stand as the comedian-actor takes a flick with his trademark broad grin dominating the foreground.

Chris Rock has worked with rappers before, including Kanye West on his album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, as well as Ol' Dirty Bastard's Recognize.

The untitled album, rumoured for a July release, will be the eighth release from the Slim Shady rapper and marks the first new material Eminem has put out since 2010's Recovery.

Recently we saw photos of Big Sean, Royce Da 5'9" and Eminem in the studio, although it's uncertain whose album exactly the three rappers were working on.

Chris Rock appears to be re-kindling his long-running relationship with the rap world when he Tweeted a photo of himself and Eminem in the studio.

Chris Rock has worked with rappers for over 10 years. He appeared on Ol' Dirty Bastard's 1999 cut Recognize from ODB's N***a Please album and more recently on Blame Game from Kanye West's 2010 album My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

Chris Rock starred in seminal gangster rap flicks I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988), New Jack City (1991) and CB4 (1993).

Chris Rock Tweeted: In the studio with Em, don't sleep http://say.ly/BNp5LUG
