Alanis Morissette’s next album, and first since 2012, ’Such Pretty Forks in the Road’ has now been delayed, presumably due to the pandemic. In a message posted on social media, and sent out to those on her email list, the singer explains the date is being pushed back, but will still be coming!
Although disappointing for fans, especially following the postponement of some tour dates, it is understandable in the current climate. Not one to leave fans disappointed, or without new music, she also includes that ‘Diagnosis’ will be released on April 24th, and some online events are also in the works to keep everyone entertained.
November dates have also been released for Alanis’s Australia, and New Zealand dates, which were previously postponed with no mention of when they mat go ahead.
Not to mention, as of a few days ago, ‘Havoc and Bright Lights’ was reposted to Spotify, and other music platforms, and this month also sees the musician on the cover of ‘Health’ magazine, speaking out about postpartum anxiety and being an empath, a great way for fans to stay connected with her while unable to see her live.
Below is the message Alanis released to fans.
hi everybody with all that is happening in the world at the moment it feels best to press pause on 'Such Pretty Forks in the Road' being released may 1. it's still coming & in motion...the date will be pushed back just a bit.
more new music will still be coming out (look out for ‘Diagnosis’ on 4/24) as I continue to finish the record, and we find a new release date that feels right. we’ll let you know as soon as we know. :) there are also some events (music, Q and A, interactive) that we are planning in order to stay connected during this time.
we’ll keep you posted xo
