When music is heard, it can be a truly powerful thing, but music is at it's most beautiful when it can not only heard, but seen and felt. In this state, a connection becomes established that can be like nothing else.

This was the case this past Saturday night at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall when Kacey Musgraves performed as part of the European/UK leg of her Oh, What a World Tour in support of her latest album Golden Hour.

Appearing on stage to a round of applause from the uniting crowd, Kacey wasted little time as she and her band beautifully strummed their way into the opening single from Golden Hour, titled Slow Burn, a real hit on the album that sets the pace for the journey that she takes you on while listening, it was a wise choice to open her show with that, as that sentiment is echoed wonderfully in her live performances.

Sounding just like the studio version of all of her songs, Kacey's setlist was a gorgeous flow of hits that had the whole crowd on their feet, clapping and singing along to every note. Mixing songs from Golden Hour and songa from her back catalogue, it was a sensual evening and a one of a kind experience that is rare to come by, artists like Kacey Musgraves can be hard to find.

The entire show was in a word, magical. Highlights of the show included Kacey's intimate, low light, full band featuring performance of her tour's namesake song Oh What a World. Her brilliant rendition of her hit single Merry Go Round and her encore performance of Golden Hour's closing track, Rainbow.

Kacey Musgraves's support act was Sophie Allison, better known by her stagename Soccer Mommy, joined on stage by her band. Marvellously performing pop rock, indie rock and lo-fi music. Soccer Mommy was a different vibe to Kacey, but there was a sense of warmth and comfort to her set. Highlights include her latest single Henry, and Still Clean, taken from her latest album Clean.

Kacey Musgraves is finishing up the UK leg of her tour before heading back over to the United States for a deep stretch of dates. You can find full tour info and more at http://www.kaceymusgraves.com/tour
