Thousands of music fans flocked to Eden Festival on the Raehills Meadows of Dumfries and Galloway at the weekend. The rain and mud did not deter or dampen the spirits of the music fans who travelled far and wide to celebrate Eden’s Festival’s 9th outing.

This home grown event did not disappoint, once again Eden Festival created something special with 12 stages of eclectic music as well as, theatre, art and a host of workshops.

Adam Curtis, Founder of Eden Festival ‘It’s been a little bit muddy, wet and windy but thankfully we had a lot of dry areas and some great tents, and the sun even came out for us in the end. The music this year has been exceptional and the atmosphere has been fantastic. We would like to say a big thank you to our 150 volunteers and crew who make Eden Festival happen, and for the festival goers, for their energy, dancing and general positivity. We hope to see you all again in 2018!’

Eden Festival Highlights

The new Mountain Stage was a feat of engineering, beautifully crafted with spectacular acoustics. Highlights included two times platinum award winning artist Agnes Obel with her dream like vocals and classically trained band, she had everyone swooning. Then, taking it up a notch was Scottish Folk band Talisk, with their high octane songs - Some major calories were burnt here!

There was a general feeling of good will and love throughout the Garden of Eden this year, perpetuated by crowd favorite Mr Motivator, who had warmed up the festival masses on the main stage, Saturday afternoon. Eden Festival even had some Bollywood sunshine too in the form of the band Kismet who spoke about peace, love and unity, with plenty of adoration coming back from the crowd.

Boney M created the biggest karaoke moment with the whole of Eden singing along to their songs, and So Solid Crew had a similar effect working the crowd into a frenzy, at one point having to stop the set due to their fans excitement.

Mega from So Solid Crew “You guys are crazier than us, this night is special”

The children had plenty to do too and reveled in the weather conditions. It was a chance for parents to wind down and let their kids run a mock learning new skills; circus tricks, stone masonry, carpentry, and arty crafts. They even had a chance to rummage in the ponds and investigate what water life lived there.

Then when the sun went down they could show off their talents performing in the Open Mic Talent Tent, followed by a big party dance off at the Thunderdome Stage.
