Returning this weekend is Scotland’s second biggest festival of 2017, the Eden Festival, where over 9,000 people are expected to go and enjoy a variety of events in the fields of Dumfries and Galloway.
Starting today and finishing on Sunday, there will be 300 performers across 12 individually different stages at the Raehills Meadows, where music, entertainment and films will be played to an audience from across the nation.
The four day festival will celebrate music, dance, colour, culture and community that is built on an ecologically sound and carbon friendly basis.
Music from the roots of Scotland, to the modern techno-DJs of today will be played and performed on some exquisite and imaginative stages.
Rabbie’s Tarvern is an auld Scottish bar which will be serving up local beers and live music from celtic to rockabilly to roots.
From one extreme to another, the Eden Festival has its own dance emporium where fans of drum and bass, electro, techno and baseline can enjoy the anthems performed by DJs on a vintage bus under a massive canopy of palm trees.
For those who are not entirely into the typical festival vibes, the Eden Festival also offers a mixture of activities for all ages.
One of the stages is called The Vishnu Lounge, where visitors can go to this beautiful space to relax, hang out in hammocks and sink into a bathtub with a hot cup of Chai whilst listening to live acoustic music.
If this doesn’t tickle your fancy, The Melodrome stage offers a magical mix of music, theatre and comedy where you can sit comfortably and enjoy the show.
For the little ones, a drive in cinema, a circus skills workshop, games, artwork and horticultural activities are available across the jam-packed weekend.

Not only has the festival featured in The Times top 20 family friendly festivals in the UK, it has also reached the finals of the UK Festival Awards for Best Grass Roots Festival and Best Family Festival in 2015.
Councillor Adam Wilson, who is the new Event’s Champion, said: “The Eden Festival is growing from strength to strength and it mess so much to hundreds of its volunteers and festival-goers from across Dumfries and Galloway.
“Eden is a musical oasis that is on our doorstep, and is now more accessible than ever due to the release of day tickets.”
