Local dance music producer, Corey James, has moved up a stage at one of the UK’s biggest festivals, Creamfields, for its 20th Anniversary.

This year, Corey will be playing on the Pepsi Max stage alongside Liverpool’s renowned DJ, Anton Powers, and Laidback Luke, who has worked with the likes of Axwell and Ingrosso.

Since Corey was 19, he has been producing and remixing dance music, and made a quick success when making a bootleg remix of Feenxipawl (house music duo).

Corey said: “They liked it so much, that they wanted to make it an official remix on Neon Records.

“I had only been producing for about a year prior to that so it was a bit of a shock that I would be able to have my first official release on such a good label.”

The young DJ praises the local nightlife, Liverpool in particular, for his inspiration to become a producer and to follow the career he now has.

Corey added: “Liverpool, in my opinion, is one of the best cities in the world for nightlife – I love it!

“My first event at Cream in Liverpool Nation for Steve Angello made me want to pursue this career.

“I was blown away that night, I still remember it like it was yesterday.”

This year will mark Creamfield’s 20th Anniversary, and Corey James’ second performance, which is a goal he was destined to achieve.

Making his way up the Creamfield’s podium, Corey has significantly progressed both in his career and in his popularity at Creamfields, as he is set to play at the Pepsi Max stage alongside some legendary names in the dance music industry.

Corey said: “Going from the Hospitality stage to the Pepsi Max stage is a great feeling and I want to thank the Cream team for that opportunity.

“So I am excited and I hopefully won’t be as nervous the second time round!”

Releasing his debut single this year, on Size Records called “With You”, Corey is certain that he will produce an album in the near future.

Corey said: “I can’t reveal too much but there’s some tracks I’m really proud of coming up over the next few months.”

This time next year, Corey is hoping to release some more great music, and continue traveling and playing shows worldwide.
