Iconic band Madness are on their way to Haydock Park, ensuring a bumper crowd for the racecourse’s second music night of the summer on Saturday 20 July.

It comes as it was announced that Whinnie Williams will support urban star Rita Ora at the third and final music night of the summer on Friday 9 August.

Garry Fortune, General Manager of Haydock Park, said: “With just over a week to go to our music night with Madness, tickets are selling quickly.

"I’d strongly advise racing and music fans alike to book as soon as they can to avoid the possibility of disappointment. Tickets are still available, but they might not be for long.

“We’re delighted that Whinnie Williams will be joining Rita Ora for the final music night next month. That’s an evening that we’re looking forward to. It promises to be a tremendous occasion.

“There was a fantastic atmosphere last month when an attendance into five figures was at the racecourse for the ‘Legends of the 80s’ night, with Newton-le-Willows born Rick Astley being a real star performer and wooing the crowds.”

Rita Ora arrives at the racecourse next month on the crest of a wave after enjoying three number one singles last year and her debut album Ora topping the charts too.

The 22-year-old, who will be recording a second album this year, won a MOBO award in 2012 for ‘Best Newcomer’.

British solo music artist Whinnie Williams has also performed on stage under the name of Sunday Girl. She has joined Ellie Goulding on tour and performed at the concert of The Rolling Stones in London’s Hyde Park this month.

Her first single and music video under her new stage name Whinnie Williams, ‘You Don't Love Me’, came out earlier this year.
