Pulp Fiction star Samuel L. Jackson has been confirmed as a signing for Quentin Tarantino's Spaghetti Western Dajango Unchained.

The Snakes On A Plane actor joins an already star-studded cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, Jamie Foxx and forgotten hero Kevin Costner.

Samuel L, who celebrates his fifth appearance in a Tarantino flick, will play Stephen 'a house slave and the right-hand man of a sadistic slavemaster' to be played by The Departed star DiCaprio.

Gerald McRaney, who is most fondly remembered as George Hearst on HBO’s Deadwood, is in negotiations for an unspecified part.

McRaney is also known for his television roles in Simon & Simon and Major Dad.

Production is scheduled to begin in November and the Weinstein Company has assigned the film a December 25, 2012 release date.
