Ahead of the highly anticipated release of Barbie in cinemas on 21st July, Warner Bros. Pictures and Visit London illuminated iconic London landmarks pink, as part of Barbie’s Best. Day. Ever.
Following the European Premiere Barbie cast and filmmakers concluded the Best. Day. Ever by switching on a bespoke Barbie inspired light display at the London Eye as landmarks across the city turned pink in celebration.
Participating London landmarks include Trafalgar Square Fountains, Nelson’s Column, Royal Festival Hall, Hayward Gallery, Queen Elizabeth Hall, One Canada Square, Sky Garden (Walkie Talkie), OXO Tower, Newfoundland, Warner House and the W Hotel.
Barbie’s Best. Day. Ever in London has consisted of:
Barbie’s car the beloved pink corvette arriving in the early hours of the morning at the London Eye.
A pink TARDIS has landed on the banks of Tower Bridge at Potters Field, in a nod to ‘just another Ken’ Ncuti Gatwa who stars in Barbie and as the Doctor in a brand new series of Doctor Who.
Filmmaker and cast media appearances.
The European Premiere with a number of cast, filmmakers and music artists stepping onto the pink carpet at Cineworld Leicester Square.
Sparkly pink Barbie glitter taxis taking over the streets.
Bespoke London Eye lighting display switched on by the cast and filmmakers, illuminating London landmarks pink for Barbie’s. Best. Day. Ever.
