Following months and months of ongoing speculation, Daniel Craig has FINALLY confirmed that he will reprise his iconic role as British spy James Bond in a new film.

The former Hilbre High student-turned- acting legend had been unsure of a return to 007 owing to his hectic workload but thankfully he has reassured his fans that he is definitely back for the 25th Bond film.

During an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he confirmed his return to host Stephen Colbert:

“I have been quite cagey about it. I have been doing interviews all day and people have been asking me and I think I’ve been rather coy. But I kind of felt like if I was going to speak the truth I should speak truth to you.”

Colbert asked him point-blank if Craig would be playing Bond for the fifth time, to which the actor said: “Yes.”

He then went on to say: “We’ve been discussing it. We’ve just been trying to figure things out. I always wanted to, I needed a break.”

Suggesting that Bond 25 may be his 007 swansong, he added: “I just want to go out on a high note, and I can’t wait.”

Craig has played the role of Bond in four previous films, which are Casino Royale (2006), Quantum of Solace (2008), Skyfall (2012) and Spectre (2015).

The 25th Bond film is likely to be released sometime in late 2019.
