The fifth Terminator film has been given a definitive title via its main star Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The new reboot of the sci-fi action series has been officially named as Terminator Genisys.

Schwarzenegger, who is reprising his iconic role as the Terminator, posted a photo of himself on Instagram sitting on a chair with the new title on the back.

He then wrote a status about the upcoming film: "Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of Terminator Genisys for a fantastic shooting.

"It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to the producers, from the camera team to catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup - we couldn't have done it without you.

"I can't wait to see our finished project, and I know we'll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator."

Schwarzenegger is the only star of the original series to return, with a new cast being involved. Among them are Game of Thrones' Emilia Clarke as Sarah Connor, Jason Clarke as John Connor and Jai Courtney as Kyle Reese.

Terminator Genisys will be released in the UK on June 26th 2015.
