J.J. Abrams has announced that the script for the highly anticipated Star Wars: Episode VII is finally finished.

The Star Trek director took over script writing duties along with veteran Star Wars writer Lawrence Kasdan after a reported dispute over the original script with Toy Story 3 writer Michael Ardnt.

Whilst touring with the television critics association the director revealed that the script was finally finished and they are "full steam ahead in deep pre production".

There is still no final word on a plot for the new movie, but more actors are being rumoured everyday as we near the start of production next month.

Abrams confirmed that he recently met with Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons, but is refusing to comment any further.

So far the director has only confirmed "He was one of the people we spoke with" but with the current storm of rumours surrounding the project this acknowledgement has sparked a feverish debate.

With reports that the director has been meeting with nearly everyone in Hollywood, fans of the franchise have been frantically sifting through the rumours trying to determine fact from fiction.

Abrams said: "It's amazing to see how many [rumours] there are, It's really remarkable. But it's sweet, because it shows that there's an interest in this movie that we all obviously know is there. But it is incredible to see how many crazy things get thrown out that people often write commentaries about how happy they are, or how disappointed they are, about things that are completely false. It's a lot of noise."

Star Wars episode VII is due to go into production net month for a December 2015 release. We will hopefully know more about the actors and plot soon.
