Star Wars Instagram account expected to hype Episode 7

An official Star Wars Instagram page was launched yesterday with a Darth Vader selfie, amusingly titled 'another day at the office.'

The Star Wars blog aptly warns "it is useless to resist" as it racked up over 130, 000 followers with only five posts since it launched yesterday.

Among the pictures are behind the scenes photos from the filming of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes back and a collection a bikini clad Leias from San Diego comic 2010.

Fans expect the Instagram account to be very active over the next few months as we eagerly await several important announcements about the plot and characters featuring in the new movie.

The verdict is still out on who has snapped up the two open roles advertised for by Disney, and the studio are rumoured to be holding a third open audition for another nameless character. But, with rewrites underway and shooting scheduled to begin in the new year, fans expect a decision soon.

Instagram is going to be the ideal platform for director J.J. Abrams to share behind the scenes shots of the highly anticipated movie with fans.

Star Wars: Episode VII is due for release December 18, 2015.
