Quentin Tarantino’s classic Chevrolet convertible, which he used for John Travolta and Uma Thurman’s famous date scene in Pulp Fiction has been found nearly 19 years after it was stolen.
The Oscar-winning director reported his cherry red 1964 Chevy Malibu was recovered in the San Francisco Bay area.
Sheriff’s Sgt Albert Anolin said an investigation into an old Malibu in the desert city of Victorville, on April 18 led detectives to another Malibu in the Oakland area – which they then confirmed belonged to the Django Unchained mastermind.
The car was reported stolen during the production of Pulp Fiction in 1994. John Travolta’s character Vincent Vega crashes the car into the front of his drug dealer’s house in the movie.
Sgt Anolin praised the sheriff’s deputy for his tenacity in finding the car, saying: “Deputy Carlos Arrieta did a really good job with this case.
“He took what many would’ve seen as a minor case and followed it through until it broke this much larger case.
“Arrieta used the resources available to him and was able to help crack the case. He’s a very good deputy.”
Quentin has yet to respond to the discovery and has not been reported if the car will be returned to him.
