Purple Revolver is joining in the fun of Liverpool Sound City, hosting a guerilla cut and paste DIY zine workshop in the plush breakout pads of the Hilton music conferences.

Über is a cut and paste zine in the early 90s style and we are bringing out a special edition with the best bits from our first year including the birth of Digital Jesus.

The zine making workshop takes place this Thursday, the first afternoon of Sound City at 2pm, in Breakout room 3 at the Hilton, first floor.

Want to start your own zine? Bring ideas, some writing, photos, artwork and learn how we put together the UK's most badass zine.

We'll teach you the techniques and how to shape a review, frame a killer music photo from the skills we honed from years of working on national newspapers.

For those amongst our readers who don't know, Purple Revolver is a creative industries news site and press agency.

Founded by national newspaper journalists Amber Tan and Andy Johnson in 2007 they scored a huge exclusive when Quentin Tarantino chose their launch party to act as his official Death Proof UK premiere afterparty in Liverpool.

We started PurpleRevolver.com in 2009 and it now has a 50 strong team of contributors across the UK reporting on the music scene in their cities and has directed creative campaigns for Manga, Polydor and Banksy amongst others.

The agency publishes Über zine with a circulation of 5,000, growing each month in Liverpool, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Nottingham and London (Camden, Soho, Shorditch).

Come and get your cut and paste on. You can DIY!

Thursday 19th, 14:00 - 15:30, Breakout 3, Purple Revolver Fanzine Workshop.
