Apple are looking to capitalise on the success of hit shows like Lost and Glee and rent them out on the internet.

The US tech giant wants to team up with studios such as Disney and CBS on the new enterprise which would give fans the option to pay 64p to “rent” episodes for two days via its iTunes online shop.

They would be able to then watch the hit shows on one of the iTunes multimedia devices such as the iPod, iPad or iPhone.

Experts say the firm could unveil the service by September 7th, two weeks before the start of America’s new prime TV season.
